I’ve always believed that some of the best moments in life happen when you step outside the familiar and go somewhere new. I love traveling, exploring new places, finding the unexpected, and collecting the kinds of experiences that become stories you tell for years.

When my husband, Eric, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, travel began to look a little different for us. Suddenly, things most travelers barely think about—long walks through airports, stairs, transportation, hotel accessibility, fatigue, mobility, and simply getting from one place to another—became an important part of every trip we planned.

But we weren’t ready to stop exploring.

Instead, I started learning how to travel differently.

That experience sparked a passion for accessible travel and for helping other people discover that needing a little extra assistance doesn’t mean the adventure has to end. Sometimes it just takes better planning, realistic expectations, the right resources, and someone willing to tell you what a trip is really like.

Through our travels, I want to share both the wonderful moments and the practical details—the places that make accessibility easy, the places that don't, the things I wish we'd known beforehand, and the little adjustments that can turn a potentially exhausting experience into an incredible one.

My goal is simple: to help make travel feel exciting again for people who may need accessibility accommodations, mobility assistance, special handling, a slower pace, or simply a different way of experiencing the world.

Because adventure doesn't have to look the same for everyone.

Sometimes you just need a different route to get there.
